Born into a family of furniture makers
and growing up in the 60’s and 70’s,
Judy Herman has always been inspired
and attracted by art, fashion and interiors.
After graduating from the
fashion academy in Gent
she continued working for the family
furniture factory for some years.
In the early 90s after being settled near Leuven
for some years she decided to leave the
furniture company and start selling her own
unique tableware, decoration and decorative table lamps.
In 1994, the company moved to the
warehouses of the old brewery of Veltem(Herent)
“Brouwerij van Velthem”, having a
background in fashion design and wooden furniture making,
it was during that
time the decision came to start producing
our own luminaires and later small
furnitures.
Given her history and experience during
the 80’s in the Belgian furniture industry, she
always refused to step into mass production.
Because she wanted to keep the
flexibility of a small company with a
multi disciplined knowledge of
craftmanship and ofcourse maintaining
a high level of quality.
Having almost all elements in house to
completely design and decorate interiors,
Judy used her decorative skills into
providing complete solutions to
architects, designers and project
managers working on interior projects
in various fields.
From private residences to boutique hotels & restaurants and from
weddings to night clubs.
